The Urbanest Group provides quality rental accommodation for students, graduates, and young professionals. Our apartment accommodation is close to the CBD and major tertiary institutions, and rent includes utilities, internet and contents insurance. To provide these products and services to you, we need to collect, use and disclose your personal information.
Urbanest Group companies are required to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) including the ten National Privacy Principles (NPPs). Our procedures promote the handling of your personal information in accordance with the NPPs, to protect and maintain the privacy, accuracy and security of your personal information.
Collection of your personal information
We will usually only collect your personal information from you, and we will limit our collection to information necessary for us to carry out our business functions, which include providing you with the Urbanest Group's products and services associated with student rental accommodation, and providing you with marketing information which we consider may be of interest to you, as well as offers regarding those products and services.
The types of personal information we collect about you, and our use of that information, is dependent on the products and services we provide to you. Generally, this personal information will include (but is not limited to) your name, address, date of birth, telephone number, country of origin and occupation. We also may require the name of the institution you are studying at and the duration of the course that you are studying.
We will always use fair and lawful means of collecting your personal information. When collecting your personal information, we will inform you generally about the purpose of collection, who we will disclose the information to, any law that requires us to collect the information and the main consequences if you do not provide all of the information requested. Whenever possible, practicable and lawful, you may deal with us on an anonymous basis.
Use and disclosure of your personal information
We will use and disclose your personal information for the purposes for which we collected it, and for other related purposes that you would reasonably expect.
Generally, these purposes include providing you with our products and services, providing you with marketing information or offers regarding other products and services of the Urbanest Group, conducting marketing and other promotional activities, and obtaining your feedback on our products and services.
We may exchange your personal information between the Urbanest Group companies, and we may disclose your personal information to our agents and contractors, for these purposes. In doing so, we will expect that all agents and contractors are bound by the NPPs, or are contractually required by us to uphold the standards of the NPPs, to ensure your personal information is protected. Our agents and contractors include those who provide us with services, and those who perform business services or functions on our behalf.
The Urbanest Group does not provide your personal information to any third party outside the Urbanest Group for the purpose of that third party using your information to market, offer or sell their products or services to you.
Apart from the above instances, we will otherwise only use and disclose your personal information with your consent (unless such uses and disclosures are required or permitted by law).

We take reasonable steps to securely store your personal information to ensure it is protected from loss, misuse or unauthorised access, disclosure or modification. We safeguard your personal information through written privacy procedures and physical, electronic and other procedural protection. Information is destroyed or permanently de-identified when it is no longer needed for any purpose for which it was collected.

Identifiers
We will use an identifier unique to the Urbanest Group, to identify the personal information that we hold about you. We do not assign Commonwealth identifiers for this purpose.
When purchasing from Urbanest Pty Limited your financial details are passed through a secure server using the latest 128-bit SSL (secure sockets layer) encryption technology.128-bit SSL encryption is approximated to take at least one trillion years to break, and is the industry standard.
