Creating a to-do list for Students

Studying at University this year? You’ll find yourself getting hit with lecture notes, assessments, essays and exams to complete! Needless to say, you’re not alone if you feel your stress level rising during this time! No one ever said getting a degree at University was a piece of cake! However, you can beat the system by simply creating a to-do list! Keep yourself organised and on top of your studies, by simply creating a list for each semester, week or month of your University life.

As a student you may feel yourself becoming overwhelmed or exhausted at times! By creating a to-do list, you’ll be able to stay on track, knowing what’s coming next and keeping yourself organised.

First off – remind yourself of the task, which is to simply create a list of things to do – not ‘TAKE OVER THE WORLD’

Make a list of 3-5 tasks which will enable you to identify and visualize a core group of tasks you wish to accomplish. Not to fear, it will grow and shorten as you work through the items!

Post your list – somewhere visible like on your notice board in your room or on the fridge! Ensure you post your list somewhere you’ll look every day, you’ll need to be able to remind yourself daily of your tasks & timelines.

Cross off items – make sure you cross off items you’ve completed! Celebrate a little!! Feel free to award yourself for completing items on your list! Once you’ve finished a big assessment or assignment, take some time off & hit the beach or go to the movies with some friends! You deserve it!

Remind yourself why you’ve created this list daily! As a University student you need to keep on track, stay organised, and have a steady outline of assignments, bills and job interviews to plan for! Staying organised as a University student will help you keep your grades up and feel better about yourself! You’ll know when you have ‘free’ time and when you should be hitting the books!

By creating a to-do list you’ll also be able to reduce your stress level by itemizing and prioritizing tasks, giving them a place in your life!!
