International students can take the time to explore some of the great things Sydney has to offer, without breaking the budget. You do not need to stay inside your student accommodation every weekend. Go out and explore some of the fun things Sydney offers. Here are three free places to visit in Sydney.

Catch a train, a bus, or even a ferry out to Homebush to see the site of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and the 2003 Rugby World Cup. This fascinating sports arena offers far more than simple sports stadiums. The cycle tracks are immense and there are stunning picnic spots scattered throughout the complex, especially at Bicentennial Park. You can pay small amounts to take some of the exciting tours offered at the Sydney Olympic Park. Engineering students will love the Behind the Scenes Exploration tour of ANZ Stadium to discover how Australian engineers made the most advanced sports stadium in the world at the time of construction. Alternatively, you can a self-guided walking tour that includes the entry fee to the Sydney Olympic Aquatic Centre. You can spend hours playing in water, swimming, and diving off the high diving boards at the aquatic centre. The fees of the tours are very reasonable and are certainly within a student’s budget.

There are literally hundreds of beaches around Sydney. You can head to a different beach every warm weekend and have a wonderful time. Pack a picnic or go to a beach that offers barbecues in parks nearby for a cheap day out. Bondi, Manly, and Cronulla beaches are among the most popular beaches for Sydney students to visit, but there are plenty of other options.
