Sydney Airport information for Students

OK Students, now that you’re here in Sydney we’re guessing your family is going to want to visit & check out your student lifestyle. Sydney is a pretty popular destination for travellers – in fact, one of our biggest exports is student travel and study so your visitors will be catered to. If you’re coming to study from interstate or overseas and have chosen a school in Sydney then you’ll probably be familiar with Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport.

Kingsford Smith is Australia’s largest airport and home to Australia’s national airline Qantas. Fortunately enough for full time students there’s a host of other budget airlines including VAustralia, Jetstar. Tiger Airlines and Virgin Blue. Which is a huge bonus for students, considering you’ll be living on limited cash flow!

Sydney airport has both international and domestic terminals – depending on where you’re going. While you’re enjoying your time studying in Sydney it’s definitely advisable to get out and see the other states as there’s definitely something for everyone.

Sydney Airport has two train stations – located beneath the International and Domestic terminals. Trains run to a frequent timetable, into and South West from the city. Most trains will deposit their passengers in the city with 15 minutes.

If you’re a student who enjoys their own personal space after a flight, there are taxis or chauffeured cars available – as well as a raft of rental car options – which can deliver you back to your student accommodation.

Getting into the city from the airport is relatively easy; not only is it well sign-posted, but there’s also likely to be fellow student travellers you can tag along with! The only problem you might have is lugging all your belongings!
